Grace That is Greater

I praise You because I am fearfully made
You formed my frame
In a secret place
All of my days
Ordained before I breathed
Written in Your book
Before I came to be
Because of Your love
I stand and wonder
You know I come to Thee
And knowing that
When I fix my eyes on You
That I will always remain
Safe in the shadow of Your
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Happy Graduation!

Sharing a BIG grad party for my daughter who is graduating college, and one of my nieces who is graduating high school, we had a beautiful day for the gathering on Sunday! Congratulations, Michelle! Four years of hard work! You did it! Later on you get to wear the cap and gown. For now, get to work eating cake! Lots of it! We had two Costco cakes! (Ooof!)
Way to go, Kelsey! You will both go far in life with the talents the Lord has given you!
Oh, and for senior fun, Michelle went river rafting on the Wenatchee River and survived to tell of it! Yikes! I am so glad I didn't know how scary it looked until after you got home. I think it's cool that you got to ride in a raft with a dog named "Bean" who had his own life jacket! Brave woman! To view the scary picture, go to River and you will see what I mean! Look for the dog's head!

Happy Memorial Day!

Mom's two socks are done!

She did a fantastic job of getting gauge, making them identical and the fact that they fit her perfectly is also amazing! Way to go, Mom!

Stress Diet

OK, this one cracked me up! A teacher at work sent it to me ! Here is a diet suggestion for those of us who are feeling stressed. It is a specially formulated diet designed to help women cope with the stress that builds during the day.

Breakfast
1 grapefruit
1 slice whole wheat toast
1 cup skim milk

Lunch
1 small portion lean, steamed chicken
1 cup spinach
1 cup herbal tea
1 Hershey's kiss

Afternoon Snack
The rest of the Hershey kisses in the bag
1 tub of Hagen-Daaz ice cream with chocolate chips

Dinner
4 glasses of wine (red or white)
2 loaves garlic bread
1 family size supreme pizza
3 Snickers bars

Late Night Snack
1 whole Sarah Lee cheesecake (eaten directly from the freezer)

Remember: Stressed spelled backward is desserts. (That is like a sign from Jesus!) Send this to four women and you will lose two pounds. Send this to all the women you know (or ever knew) and you will lose 10 pounds. If you delete this message, you will gain 10 pounds immediately. That's why I had to pass this on, I didn't want to risk it.

WWKIP Day is Coming Soon...

Ok, so the sun only lasted two days...What did you expect from Seattle? That's why it's so green here! Just to let you know I discovered that an important date is coming up, which everyone should mark on their calendars (if you are a knitter of course!) If not, you don't really care:
Worldwide Knit In Public Day, yessirree! WWKIP DAY! Mark it down! It's June 14th!
And on that date, you can bet there will be an entire army of knitters doing their knitting thing in public!
This is a photo of my very cool tote/knitting bag which has many cool pockets and magnetic closure. I already have alot of cool totes and knitting bags. But this one was more waterproof and very stylish. And a woman can never have too many totes.

As for the progress on the sweater, I am now done with the back, the left and right fronts and now starting my very first ever SLEEVE! If you look back at my Long Sleeved Cardigan entry, you can see what I'm going for-as in, a sweater!
It doesn't look like much yet...but this is the beginning of something amazing!

Sunshine-Filled Weekend

You don't get weekends like this very often around quirky Seattle, so we are loving this weather. At least it lasted a few days this time. Felt like summer! The lilacs are blooming...

The Rhodies are happy...
And we hung up the hummingbird feeder...made a bouquet, and BBQ'd ...

They say that sunglasses are sold more in the state of WA than any other state because we lose them in the winter! I love how my neighbor sits outside in the yard in her lawn chair and puts her indoor cats out there with her on a leash to enjoy the weather.

Beautiful Lanyard

Can the words "Beautiful" and "Lanyard" possibly go together? I believe they can! A special friend, Amy gave me a Brighton Lanyard today only a few days after I'd admired hers...I was so surprised and tickled. I never knew there was such a thing so beautiful on which to hold my staff tag!

Can I wear it around the house? It's so fun! Can I wear it to the grocery store? Thank you, Amy!

Thanks, Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Mom....It's all because of you that I am...

And it's all because of you that I knit...I am, therefore I knit!!

I am awkward at first, using long straight needles on my very first scarf! Now I prefer circulars.

This was my little scarf in progress! It was a bumpy blend, and fun to do. It's fun sharing this hobby with you. You are a wonderful example of a creative woman who is always learning new things. Thanks to you, Mom, for all you are and all you do!

I LOVE YOU!

Here's the sock Mom is knitting on. I haven't done one yet, so I am waiting for her to teach me when she becomes the expert at it. It looks really pretty so far...

This is what it looks like sideways! Very nice!

Wally the Ram

My sis- in -law Jean and her husband live on a delightful farm in Chewlah, WA. You may visit her lovely site at Chicory Springs Farm. It is the home to goats and many other livestock, as well as home to Wally the ram! Soon Wally will lose his wool. I wonder what will become of his wool? Will some lucky knitter be able to spin it, dye it -or can you dye brown wool-and knit with it? Jean has penned a fantastically cute poem in honor of Wally ...and his wool! (Ahem, now for the poem):

Wally, Wally is a ram.
“A big boy-sheep,
That’s what I am!
I’m rough and tough,
I’ll fight all day.
And if I’m happy,
It’s baaaaa I’ll say!”

Wally, Wally is a sheep.
He’s not so tough,
he’s pretty meek.
He shakes his horns and
stomps his feet,
but he’ll wiggle his tail
if you scratch his cheek!

Wally, Wally has some wool.
It’s big and brown,
his coat’s quite full.
The weather’s hot,
he says, "enough!
Somebody come get rid of this stuff!”

Wally, Wally is a sheep.
I called the shearer,
he’s coming next week.
Clipping, snipping it falls to the ground.
Wally, Wally isn’t so round!

Wally, Wally wants a ewe.
He looks around to improve his view.
The pen next door?
It’s just a buck.
Wally, Wally is out of luck.

Wally, Wally is a ram.
A time ago he was a lamb.
He drank some milk and grew up fast,
Wally, Wally now likes grass!
Thanks, Jean! :) Keep us informed on Wally.....He is awesome!

Cupcake Royale

My daughter brought home the most AMAZING cupcakes last night from Cupcake Royale. I ate the pink one with chocolate sprinkles. I took a picture before I ate it, (obviously) it was so cute.
The other one I will save for my husband...maybe...if he eats it quickly!
