Long Sleeved Cardigan

My next project is this long sleeved cardigan out of the same pattern book using Twilleys of Stamford wool, but this time in Air (lots of blues). It is coming along pretty well. It has alot of ribbing along the waistline.

I'm done with the back, (shown in progress below), the left front and now am working on the right front.

I love the slightly khaki color that is also in this yarn and how it self-stripes. Though I will not be able to match the stripes I'm sure when I get to seaming later on...

Meeting the Yarn Harlot

Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, WA~ April 21, 2008
Now is as good a time as any to begin my blogsite, since I may never have such exciting news to post in the future! If you don't know who the Yarn Harlot is, you have to check out her blogsite and her books.

Getting my book signed....It was an amazing experience sitting in a room packed full of knitters (alot of them working on socks!) and listening to Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. She really is as funny in person as in her writing. We learned that knitting is good for your brain. We can possibly fend off Alzheimer's and have lower blood pressure! She encouraged us in the value of what we are creating with our hands. Knit on, sisters!
I even got to hold the famous traveling sock!...This was quite an honor to do. I was very excited to be there to meet the Yarn Harlot and share the time with my Mom and friend, Carol. Thanks for getting us in line, Carol! I was proud to wear my knitted wool vest. This was my first real garment completed this year. It was done with wool from England called Twilleys of Stamford, Essence, purchased at Knitty Purls in Langley, WA. Pattern Book: Freedom Spirit 455
